Essential Skills

Responsibilities

• Work with other team members to research, organize, and write administrator's, user’s guides and online help systems.

• Gather information for the documentation by studying specs, working with products, and speaking with contacts in Engineering, Product Management, Product Marketing, Technical Support, and other organizations.

• Frequently interact and collaborate with members of other departments such as Engineering, QA, Marketing, and Technical Support to address the needs of customers.

• Deliver high quality work on time.

• Advocate ease of use and clarity in the user interface.

• Monitor information universe for identified products in web and collaborate with partners to improve that


Requirements

• University degree, preferably in English

• Minimum of 6 years experience as a technical writer or instructional designer, preferably in software documentation for the consumer/commercial market.

• Excellent writing skills and demonstrated ability to write clear, concise prose on a deadline.

• Experience writing online help systems and writing for the web.

• Experience writing installation and system administration guides besides user guides.

• Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.

• Demonstrated ability to address users with various levels of experience.


Ideal

• 4-year college degree.

• Ability to write elementary code snippets and create test cases

• Experience in using Acrobat extensively in organization; experience in using LifeCycle products

• Ability to communicate with the engineering team on their own terms.

• Experience designing and creating web-based training applications.

• Experience with Adobe Captivate, DreamWeaver, Macroedia Flash and PhotoShop.
